24-12-2007 AH.FM End of Year Countdown

i eventually would like to get a mac book... maybe even a mac book pro to learn and play aorund with, but that will have to wait until late next year.

I would like one to start DJ'ing. They have a nice software available for Mac OS X called Serato scratch it...

You hook up CDJs and a mixer, and using their hardware/software, mix MP3s and you get to touch the equipment.

OMFG another version of Win BLOWS?!?!?!!? ugh... I hope googles free OS that is to be released next year r-apes microsoft hard in the ass... I hate how bloated windows has become.. I mean FFS the hardware requirements to run vista are F ucking ridiculous! Linux FTW!

I don't think Gubuntu is going to be released.

you should definitely get that, it is cool. :grinning: of-course, the one that i have now is not mine, it is the company's that i work for, kind of a temp loaner....... i can't afford it...

windows vista is quite good, really, i am no expert, but i like it better than XP....vista was developed wholly in india i think, but that is not the reason, still sometimes i think coders in india and europe are better than the ones in the US and canada ....... :music:

ive been using vista on my new computer for about a week now, i find it better than XP so far. :grinning:

linux / unix is great because when you have a problem you can dig around in places to fix it... in winblows once something breaks you are pretty much shit out of luck and have to either try to do a recovery (which is a nightmare if you dont k now what the hell you are doing, or have to format and start from scratch which takes too much f ucking time)

Yeah...I had that problem.... "eLement discovers the rm -rf command"...that was not pretty..

Vista ... as to what I have heard has TOO many compatibility constraints in terms of software, and is damn resource hogging.

But then never tried it .. so shall say XP is doing fine.

And yes, I do agree with jedrek

hmmm have only toyed around with vista... so much to relearn and I havent warmed up to it... I have been running XP for over 6 years now and its been solid as a rock. Never had and problems, crashes or BSODs. I had it 6 months before release in beta and not a single problem... they never changed anything from the beta to the retail version

that is a statement i will have to agree with 100% (not 99.99%) ! :mask:

one advice, if you are comfortable with XP already and it is stable, don't switch. there is no point in switching to another (and latest) OS just because ppl say so, if you are happy with it and it is working fine, then keep using it. :grinning:

at least that is how i feel. :|

i have to learn vista regardless since i will be working in IT, but honestly theres only 10% or less of market that is using vista... plus many companies still use old software that isnt supported in Vista.... vista is great if you have brand new hardware and all the proper drivers, but if you dont then i hear its a huge f ucking nightmare

Long live XP!

Death to vista! :chair:

btw guys .... if you are not into streaming, then install K Lite Mega Codec Pack and use Media Player Classic in XP and listen to your music and the streams in here. The sound quality is far far better than Win Amp, coz you can actually add certain decoders to get better sound quality

I agree with you 110% ... no sense, but still have to learn it either way. I have enjoyed it, but theres a shit load to learn.
