dfx - Feel The Bass (aka: dfx goes Progressive!)

gotta agree and at the same time disagree with you there. agree for obvious reasons, but disagree because it's our job to make sure the listeners get what they expect. it's not so much a matter of personal taste, even though it largely converges (but not fully). i will never support any DJ that plays techno, electro, minimal or anything like that. it just doesn't belong here, and they should know so.

well as this thread shows time and time again - your definition of Techno, Electro etc . might not fit with other DJs and Listeners - and then we'll be arguing about who is right - leave the final saying to the listeners in votings and threads - no need to pick battles which are not yours to fight

and again as i've said elsewhere, i'm not talking about my defintion, i'm talking about the definition. i'm quite aware when something is borderline between certain styles etc, just as well as i know when something definitely doesn't belong here. and this isn't just because i don't like it (if it was for that, program would look quite different), it's what i hear and read from a lot of people - the listeners.

well staffers are listeners too, and they have the the freedom to say what they think or not?, and this station is all about trance and anything that is out of that doesn't fit here.

just my 2 cents:grinning:

Heck..you don't even need to go talk about techno/electro/house..there are enough trance subgenres to last lifetimes.

I listened to it and i think it's quite a good set :) the tracks selected are really nice, but like i said, i felt like some of them were kind of brutally raped by your high bpm choice. Maybe it's therefor that i liked the first part of your set better :) Still a good set though :)

just shows how different perception can be... that mike foyle set just now made me listen to an old GDJB from 2003... awesome progressive stuff there, and believe it or not, he starts off with 140 bpm, right from the first track. amazing stuff, that's what i could go crazy to :super:

i thought it was really good :) listened to it all night a few days ago :super:

yeah well, back in the days progressive was played a bit faster indeed :) i too have progressive sets from back then in a way higher bpm.., but most of them in lower bpm :) But still i prefer it like it is now actually , way better to put some 'depth' in a set that way :)

well i wouldn't call it "raping", sometimes it's actually quite consensual, some prog tracks within the flow of a mix or even standalone can and could do with a kick in the bpms. :)
okay, so dfx mixed in green, some see it as dark green, I will look at it as light green, or pistachio, or khaki, or lime?? :hmmm:

however, within your artistic freedom you have mixed a set that kept me interested over it's duration had some pearl tracks, hint of the broken beat, bordering on techno (or shall we make up a new genre and call it tech prog, hehe) and overall a good mix. to go with my hosts rating I'll give it 4.5/5

thanks mate. :grinning:

glad you enjoyed it, cheers :)
