Just made it through this whole thread, which took me a while(!).
I'll try to be fair here and say the postive and negative things for the live broadcasts. I can understand why someone is irritated by the volume. At some points the volume is too low and you have to turn it to max just to hear something and other times it is loud as hell. I am no geek and surely doesn't know much about what kinds of technical skills it takes, but can't you do something, so the volume will stay the same or is that all depending of the DJ and how he/she has mastered the set?
At some point the broadcasts had a lot of buffering and suddenly stopped. For the last couple of broadcasts it hasn't been a problem, so not sure if you guys have made any changes or something, but well done
This is the only radio-station I have seen which is so focused on live broadcasting and I love it! With the amount of broadcasts you guys are presenting of course it goes wrong sometimes, you can't always be perfect: Technical issues, the schedule can be changed or a small thing can fall of, so the whole god damn system collapses, but you can't point fingers at the crew here, they aren't trying to mess it up on purpose.
As for the whole money issue, I haven't really understood it yet. This is a free radio-station, if you don't want to support it by paying a few dollars each month, then dont. Of course there should be some kind of benefits for the moderaters and crew, they are trying to make this station work for all the rest of us (no spaming, no breakdown, the schedule etc. etc.) I think we should thank the crew for all the hard work they are doing here!
Of course the members are helping the crew, it would be un heard of it we didn't! If you don't want to help this forum by speaking in a normal tone and trying to behave yourself, well, don't come here, no one wants anything to do with you then.
Dan had a goal with this station, to have an open, free net-station which plays trance 24/7 and he have done it better than any of us would have done!
There have been issues in the past, both technical and some people who couldn't behave themself, but you can't avoid that.
All credit goes to Dan, the rest of the crew and the many members here who are doing their best to make the station work.
