Can't think of any other uses of it than "hama tulevaisuus" = "(the) distant future". As for hämä, it doesn't mean anything by itself, but:

hämärä = dusk/twilight/dark
hämäys = trickery, misrepresentation, skulduggery
hämätä = the verb for hämäys
hämähäkki = hämä cage = spider.
hämäläinen = someone from Häme.
