btw am having a very tough time with Firefox 3 .. it just crashes any time and with no good reason to call an overload

oh bummer ! I've got no issues at all with Firefox 3.x - using it on three different computers at home and one at work ! You tried a full un-install, clean registry and re-install again ? ​
