Why this broadcast went wrong...
Back home - I was only there assisting Laan to get the connection up because DanceFoundation broke up the appointment to take care of the broadcast - I have some time to answer all your questions about this sad story. Feel free to add any questions left about this topic and I'll try to answer them.

Indeed, Assisting, not more not less, not partying thus. I haven't seen one DJ this evening, only putting tape over cables over the floor and get up the connection to Dan.
i have no idea but the show is on a stop right now cuz they need a cable...just be tunned in...it should start up any minute now
We didn't have the cable between the mixer in the DJ Booth and the laptop. Someone (mentioned enough now, I'll not repeat the name) from Dancefoundation promised to give
all the stuff for the broadcast. To be sure that the internet connection to Dan at least was stable and working we'd brought our own laptop, which was even
borrowed. We got the connection to Dan up in time and waited for over an hour for the remaining equipment which should be plug and play. But in fact
nothing was delivered and the person showed up (without all promised equipment) exactly 5 minutes before his own set to play. We were far from happy as you'll understand. After asking, he gave us eventually his car keys and described the car in which the equipment was stored. Then Laan and me went to the very big multifloor-carpark (15 min's walking away from the party) and searched and searched for the car. We found it and took out of it the bag with an extra mixer and some cables. Running back to the partyplace and trying to get things connected, the cable's weren't the right ones. We hoped at that moment that maybe the person after his set could connect the stuff, maybe completed with some stuff from the partyplace. But I had to go to home after discussed this with Laan, to catch the latest train for getting there again uberhaupt.
cable store closed at 17:00....probably having a cold beer and chillin @ pub...

well i hope he does...not fair to the ones that have to listen on afterhours...theres already people partying at the event and we are here just waiting...
Not Laan, not Dan (who was not in Utrecht, not even in the NL) and not me could do anything about it. We've done our utmost to get everything up. In fact everything in our responsibility worked as planned, only the missing link (between booth and laptop) spoiled our best intentions.

Well, let's certainly not do that. I hope to have explained that circumstances out of our responsibility (Laan heard only short before the date that he had to do everything alone and could forget assistence, only equipment would be delivered. Hearing this story I promised to help him a bit, to set the internet connection up which was OK) spoiled this broadcast. I really feel sorry for all of you, including me, wanting to hear the party now on stream and chat with you all.

We had all equipement fixed to have the broadcast going. Even the internet seems to be good for it. Unfortunately as promised, Robert Nickson didn't show up with the cable we needed. We've been waiting for it all the time. He doesnt seem to care..
I have to dissapoint everyone who's waiting for this broadcast.
I'm greatly angry at the moment.

why did you guys not take your own cable??
I mean you guys worked hard to get permission to broadcast and stuff, why not make sure you have everything you need? Did you guys just realized that you needed that cable at the last second?? No way to buy the cable?

It's a bit lame to put this on Nickson. YOU were the ones responsible for the broadcast, and you've been doing this before before so you are responsilble for the equipment, and that everything works as it should.
Don't blame Nickson for your own faults.
what makes me pissed off is no one took a cable with advance? only at last minute they remembered the cable?

And you can't blame Nickson. You can only blame yourself and Dancefoundation for not keeping the arrangment as planned.
i cant belive this...why didnt afterhours TEST before the event to make sure everything was in the right place?...
Dear people above, please don't react too fast about things you don't know the fine details of, and look carefully at Dan's excellent explanation:
This broadcast was supposed to be with dancefoundation as before, unfortunately they could not do it and told us few days ago, but promised to give us gear to do the broadcast, which turns out it was not the right gear.
AH.FM will invest in our own equipment for future broadcasts, its really tought to depend on others.
I'm sorry all for this, thank you laan and marco for setting up and waiting for the last thing needed for bcast to happen.
Sorry again all, wont happen in future as we will be prepared.

people can relax for a second and dont start to blame both sides?it just an annoying cable for sake mistakes happens for sake!please chill out but mistakes happens anyway isnt?
As others have said, no point in blaming people for this. Just one of those things and it happens I guess. Nice work by Dan and the AH crew for trying to get it running, maybe next time hey.
