I bought my Technics and the DJM second hand and they're both thoroughly unbreakable (although I only just broke the headphone socket on the mixer yesterday - we were in fact close to disaster lol)Nice gear manwe are saving up to buy CDJ 400s and a DJM 400 just to start off since its going to be our first time buying.
Any advice while looking for some? used or new? stuff like that would be nice thanks

Awsome choonage here![]()
So basically CDJs have to be new and the mixer can be used. But CDJ 400s and DJM 400 is good to start with right?I bought my Technics and the DJM second hand and they're both thoroughly unbreakable (although I only just broke the headphone socket on the mixer yesterday - we were in fact close to disaster lol)
CD decks I think I'd only ever get new though, they seem a lot more fragile in comparison and strike me that they probably will need replacing at some point before long.
My only advice would be to learn on old/cheap decks, but when you're making your "big" purchase, save up and get the better stuff because it'll just last longer. To be honest though, none of it really matters anywhere near as much as simply practising![]()

Yeah I think mixers and vinyl decks are just more durable, but I think they should be fine enough for you mate! :grinning: Hell of a lot better than the ones I had for my first 5 years anywaySo basically CDJs have to be new and the mixer can be used.
