the secret about guinness and sam adams is that they contract out to breweries in parts of the country where they can brew/distribute their beers. One of our local breweries in Pittsburgh brewed sam adams for distribution in the tri-state area. yuengling has capacity issues and may still be considered a micro-brew given that they produce less than 10,000 barrels a year.

Nah, Yeungling was a brewery before micro-brewery ideas existed... you can't demote them because they refuse to mass produce devil piss like coors....

That's what I mean when I talk about Guiness in bottles not being guiness... if it's not draft it's not Guiness... sam adams just doesn't appeal to me that much... the oktoberfest is okay, but I'd pick a molson or a blue moon or shocktop before I went with a sam adams...

micro-brewery is a definition of output. there may be other reasons as well. i drank to much yuengling in college to enjoy it now...along with the beast, old mud, natty bo & keystome light..
