It was wonderful. I got laid off from that job too when Ford lost the Shuttle contract to Loral in the mid 80's. Ford Motor subsequently sold the company (Ford Aerospace and Communications) to Loral. They have since gone under. I believe that Lockheed owns it all now, last I heard. Lockheed is a good company. Much better than Loral.
