When I rented a house a couple of years ago, this was indeed the case, and I was very satisfied with that. But now I have an extra room dedicated to the PC, and also in the kitchen the sound communicates more easily with the neighbors... I can hear them, and they can hear me. In the PC room, I can keep a high volume also during the night.
