trance has its different sub-genres withing. melodic like you say, psy, goa, progressive, tech, hard and others. uplifting is a term of meaning high energy.trance

sometimes genres are mixed and it's difficult to define them
i don't mind progressive trance and psy trance. but hard dance, house & electro are not trance, i agree
but trance has its sub-genres within the name TRANCE.nope trance_fan, trance is trance and the others together is EDM
progressive for example it's not trance never was
