Explanation by example:

Armin van Buuren + A. van Buuren
Sander van Doorn + S. van Doorn
Paul van Dyk + P. van Dyk

Now the only exception. When you leave out the first name, or the initial of the first name, the name starts with a capital.
so:

Mister Van Dyk, Mister Van Doorn, Mister Van Buuren. But
as at most times, the first name is put, it's the non-capital version way most often :grinning:

The rule applies for all Dutch, Flemish and German names including : de, van, het, een '. The Americans are a different chapter. In infinite wisdom, they decided to go for a ' no-brainer ' ALL CAPITAL approach. That's fine. You know the guitar playing guiter brothers Alex Van Halen and Eddie Van Halen from The Netherlands Van Halen ? Born Dutch, moved as a child to the USA. Now they're Americans - and the spelling of their names is likewise : with a capital ' V ' Alex Van Halen and Eddie Van Halen :grinning:
