going back in time :w00t:

I hadn`t even dreamed of something like that. Among all the 2009 Uplifting I heard the previous days, this is something different and even because of that it deserves to be called one of the best sets in EOYC 2009 so far. Ok, to me, the second best, right after Paul Webster`s :)

This set is now officially my favourite from EOYC so far

Orkidea is a man with a true appreciation for the genre and I salute you

:iagree:So many greats tracks. One's i never got to hear.

You guys notice the absolute difference between this and today's "trance"? This stuff just flows and flows and if you close your eyes it feels like you're flying through the clouds. This is real trance.

Not that deggadeggadegga boinkboingboink stuff they call trance nowadays

Trance from a bygone age:grinning: But each generation's definition of great trance will be different. But there is no doubt this old stuff stands up well to the test of time:smile::yes:

ILLUMINATUS - HOPE (Oliver Lieb Remix) :)

This one is from 1994.

I can hear the difference that goes like this: 1994<1998<2004<2009. Trance is changing, but I still prefer the 1994-2004 times than today's.
This is something I've given a lot of thought to over in the past, and my conclusion is that trance never changes, it just gets interpreted in lots of different ways.

The main difference to me is technological, as sound samples are a lot crisper now due to advances in sound engineering, but the spirit of the genre itself to me though, has remained constant throughout

:iagree: Those were the golden years of trance in my opinion.

i agree with that :bravo:

i like this older stuff too, it's refreshing cause it's totally different from what i usually listen to, but i couldn't listen to it for longer than one or two hours :mask:
