There are 1TB drives now from Western Digital, Hitachi, and Seagate. The WD's are "green", spin at lower RPM, e.g. like older 5400 RPM days and use less power. The Hitachi's are good performers but use 5 platters. Seagate I avoid these days. WD's have been doing good for me. Use 10K Raptors for boot disks and then Caviar or RE's for storage.
