A DRUNK-driver almost six times over the legal limit tipped police off after he tooted his horn and waved at officers as he drove past them.
The 30-year-old man later told police he didn’t know he was driving a car.
Police from the Nunawading Highway Patrol were in Whitehorse Rd, Box Hill, about 8.25pm last night when a car went past.
The officers were only drawn to it because the driver was tooting his horn and waving at them.
The driver was pulled over and blew .278 – almost six times the legal limit.
He had his licence suspended immediately and will face court at a later date.
