i also read that article about it lately. and i must say i had to agree at first read, but something quickly disturbed me with that point of view. It's too easy to point at something and say : oh! that's where's the problem is!
I mean, criticism is never harmful when it is "constructive" and "positive". It is even an essential condition to evolve, make things better or just different and therefore create something. Now, it is not always easy to take criticism, that's right.
Then, regarding the, and sorry for the word, "bitching" or bashing, i can't believe this is killing the scene all by itself, if ever the scene is being killed. Maybe the scene just got suicidal
Btw, am sometimes wondering what this "killing the scene" is really all about. Take it 20 years ago, the scene was another thing and from this point of view, it is doing better today than then
