With exceptions of course (ahem, ‘Castamara’ and ‘Second Turn’), so much diversity from one man can be hard to come by, and in Jonas Steur’s case, it’s hard to know where he’s heading to next. What we do know is that it will rise in true Steur style, from those early days up until the Jennifer Rene collaboration of ‘Fall to Pieces’.

True to form, lush strings and the diverse vocal style melt together well, along with the ever-present shakers sticking to the mix. Lyrics are becoming an important part of trance these days, and the subject matter that Julie Thompson sings so well about provides a solid forefront for the minimalist touch that makes this track what it is.

Hopefully a benchmark has been set for the way in which we deal with vocal beauties these days; the stripped down edge that we have here typifies the well-executed exposition of a vocal talent that will no doubt be well-received in the scene.

Verging on a classic.
