I haven't read it (will do so now)

But saying that, Laz is a genius, and has my utmost respect. I've been away from these forums too long, but this year has been a real awakening musically, and I'd hate for people to miss the amazing things being done just because they don't fit into one particular sect of EDM.

I agree 100%. I find that I love most forms of EDM music; ambient being one of my favorites. I still think that Interloper by Carbon Based Lifeforms and Sinking by Sysyphe are two of the best electronic songs around and they are incredibly downtempo. There are so many different styles. If you like one, great! But if you do not like it, there is no reason to hate on it, just listen to something else. As Lazarus says "taste is subjective after all."

Should be "Right Where it Ends" by Carbon Based Lifeforms. Interloper is the album  my mistake

Exactly! :grinning: that has always been my feeling on Music as a whole. I have an eclectic pallet as far as music goes, and while I don't expect everyone to share my openmindedness, it always annoys me when someone flippantly refers to something they don't care for as "crap".

Music, like any other art form, is completely subjective. One persons trash is another's treasure, and we should never forget that.

Thank you! It still bothers me when someone will reply to a song and say "oh that song is crap" or "this artist is terrible." I sit there thinking "Well no one is forcing you to listen to it!" Sure, there are tunes that I may not like the style of but at least I will give it a chance. Who knows, maybe I will find out I like it.

I think a lot of the problem is the image that is given to the type of music. For rap, people see everyone as gangsters. For trance, they see people popping X and Ketamine. It is hard to get away from that negative connotation that is given
