It can't only be US coverage to blame though - I've been able to stream other apps (sports games, live DJ streams via Grooveo) just fine without interruptions

Good point, but the concept 'dropped calls' was not an issue in pre-iPhone days in Europe - only in the US. But now we all have the cell phone with the worst antenna and blame it on the provider ...

I have this problem too, but if I click any button like Bold, Italics, Underline, the problem goes away and spacebar starts working again. Pasting and undoing works as well, it's only initially when I start typing in the quick reply field that spacebar won't work
