for a pc you want some active stereo speakers , mostly 'monitor' types tend to have the best sound

i have GOOD experience with m-audio small speakers (my av-40 1st gen were 95 pounds in 2009)
and i own 3 thump speakers being two active 12" and a VERY powerful battery powered 8" , the GO
(bax always has discount codes , i currently have a 5% one)
you may want lo look locally for these kind of things and some local online shops.
