how much you people spend on this, i mean i saw Magik, but the rest of you ?

I bought the update to Ableton Live 6 with Sampler yesterday, which brings the total amount of money I spent on Ableton products alone at around 975 euro 8(

Will calculate the rest for you, I think I will be in shock lol :D

Also gonna make some pics to show all the new stuff.

so does all of this pricey equipment mean ur any good at mixing,
because ive heard better mixes on belt drive turntables then on MK2s (not bashing anyone) just saying skill is the number one piece of equipment

the asnwer to me is yes and no. Of course if you cant mix at all it does not matter if you use technics or a cheeper brand, your suckiness will sound the same. but if you are serious about DJing, i would say the gear makes huge difference. I played some gigs with standard equipment and it has been a blast, and i also had some aweful ones where i had a blown monitor, the mixer had no master channel and 2 channels were out, and i pretty much had to monitor completely inside my headphones, not fun.

Many djs, especially very known ones always request specific gear when they play in a particular club, no one ever says "O, whatever you get is fine." Equipment is a very important piece of your performance. From cans to needles.

So no, equipment itself will not make you better, but it will shorten the learning curb. If its just for fun and you want to screw around at home a little bit, you can probably make due with PCDJ. On the other hand, if you ever want to play out, be it tomorrow or two years from now, i would say surerior equipment makes all the difference in the world. Might as well get familiar with equipment you are going to be using down the road....
