Well, 11 years in, after Lift arguably kickstarted my career in this industry and after it being "discovered" (pun fully intended) by John Askew, I have finally decided, for the first time since it´s 2006 release, do my very own full-fledged remix. It´s insane to realize it has actually been that long. I would have probably done it for the 10 year anniversary if I had felt my technical prowess was on the level last year, but I felt I was still not ready yet.
This year, I was. Ready to put a spin on this that no one had done before, as let´s not forget this thing was remixed by 260+ various artists during the Lift Remix Competition some years back. There were so many great remixes that came out of that, but no one really touched the melody much, to make it come of age, to make it grow.
Since Lift´s release in 2006, I´ve had over 150 more singles, remixes, compilations, and the like released, and each year I just grow more and more in love with the concept of presenting a world to you that is not visual or tangible, it´s auditory. And this auditory reality has the ability in so many ways to make you feel things that the visual and tangible worlds cannot. This simple fact... is what I love, and makes me come back for more every damn day.
I actually even found a photo of myself during the original Lift release week back then. Look at that cherub-like innocence
This is also packaged on this EP with a true chill out mid done by the amazingly talented Chris Voro & Ode, who have interpreted it in a completely different and hauntingly beautiful way. Highly recommended.
Thanks for everyone for these years of support and encouragement, I feel even more inspired than on day one all those years back. You´re all amazing.
