Ah come on, sampling Veela again?![]()
This version is actually over a year old now![]()
Breaking something big in the music industry is an incredible challenge, but ultimately what it comes down to is one simple thing - you have to make people who are indifferent to your music become interested in your music. The campaign to jolt it to #1 was all in good fun, I could see that. And Gaz remained on point about the music video's anti-bullying message and all proceeds of track purchases going to the anti-bullying charity. So it's all perfectly fine. The track's insane popularity though is, I find it pretty mind-blowing

more often, I did buy my digital music at Juno Download

Still, the sampling or inclusion of Veela - Another Dare in any genre is way overboard by now. Gotta give it a break!

As a label owner I'd say Beatport, because they're the most expensive and we earn the most from it as a result
As a DJ/enthusiast I'd say Juno, used to buy all my vinyl from them as well. They get everything that matters![]()
The complaining from the past weekend would have to do with Gareth's own EDM phase in the past. By now, I've forgiven him for that myself as I have for Ferry Corsten, but then there's the likes of John 00 Fleming & Christopher Lawrence and their Trance purist attitudes when I knew what Gaz was poking fun at and it never meant any insinuation about Trance being in a bad place at all. Those FB posts they made really weren't necessary, and it made them look like jerks. JOOF doesn't help his case when I've heard about comments on his page being deleted for simply disagreeing about how Gaz was promoting the track, of which I didn't find anything wrong with.Breaking something big in the music industry is an incredible challenge, but ultimately what it comes down to is one simple thing - you have to make people who are indifferent to your music become interested in your music.
We're enthusiasts - so appealing to people like us is just preaching to the converted. Appealing to people who don't care, that's a whole different ballgame. Usually the industry just sticks a pretty face and body on whatever they're selling and throws it out half-naked to the wolves. So in contrast, I can't really see what people are complaining about when it's at least packaged up with good intentions and charity funds.
Always loved this one and wanted to get it in a demo mix so...

There's always got to be something for people to complain about every few weeks though, it wouldn't be trance without itThe complaining from the past weekend would have to do with Gareth's own EDM phase in the past. At the least, it was nice to know Gaz kept it classy and took the high road, which is the right thing to do if we want less negativity in the scene
