Agreed, except "an experience, a set that gets them through a journey" is also putting on a show, albeit a very different one. Most festivals, and that includes ASOT, especially when it's in Miami during UMF, the DJs need to play the latest drops. For a large number of festivals, people are not there for an experience, a set that gets them through a journey. They just want a quick fix, hearing 15 of the latest beatport tracks in an hour. Last year, A&F was booked for a gig in my town right after Benni Bennassi. He tried to play his style, it didn't work, he tried to cater more to the audience, didn't work. He left after 45 minutes and everyone was upset.

Damn, what gig was that? Did he close or did next dj (who?) get 15 more minutes? Don't know why you examples that though, that problem was because Benny & Fila are so different.
