Signature permissions

hey guys in kinda new (here registered a while ago but haven't been on that much)

i was checking my profile settings and wanted to upload a signature using a img link of photobucket but it doesn't allow me to
are the sign permissions related in any way to the status of my profile ? (post count etc etc)

I think you need supporter status to use a signature image:

but that's one among many great reasons to upgrade your status
