Just saw that. For hours now I have been thinking how to express my violent mood "nicely". I'm done, too difficult. Honesty is always better. Lest you think I am a curmudgeonly oldschooler unwilling to change, I was only exposed to trance in 2006/2007. The first 4 sets today were trash, almost all #untrance. Maybe the definition of trance is only opinion. Maybe Hardwell & Skrillex are pure epic euphoric trance. Fuk that! Changing with time is fine, & could be done while remaining trance. There is trance being produced in 2014 & almost none were played today. 10 years ago people would have been beaten down for calling most of those tracks trance.

Glad to hear this trance set! Afterward I will listen to a 2014 trance set. Maybe a Ferry Tayle or Ronny K set.

Noted :)

If this isn't your cup of tea, why sit here listening for 4 painful hours? Why not go listen to something you consider trance?

Everyone make sure you tune in next month for another 5 hours of Trance and Progressive :) It was a pleasure as usual. For more info on the Trance artists that helped make this happen please visit http://www.blacksunsetmusic.com

Thanks :D

The most common problem here is with labeling, not the music. If you enjoy different styles of music, you'll enjoy trance even if it isn't trance.

Just enjoy the art for what it is, not for what you think it's supposed to be. I personally love both the oldschool trance and the newer styles, because - I think - I don't discriminate by label (trance or not trance?), I discriminate by how it sounds and whether I enjoy it or not. For all I care it's classical. If I enjoy it, I'll enjoy it regardless of what people label it.

Thought I would give it a second chance. Suppose henceforth I will check tracklists after & decide whether to listen.

Wtf. Don't understand what you mean. If it is not trance it is not trance!

I understand some of what you're getting at. Labeling is a huge problem. Much of my anger was that the show is labeled: trance. So that means something and excludes something.

I also listen on that other level - not what it is labeled but just whether I like the sound. Disliked first 4, liked 5th.

What i meant with that was actually about the labelling. It's a play on words and meaning, like saying the referee is always right even when he's wrong.

And yeah, if you dislike the newer "Trance" styles, it has more to do with that than the labelling, if you ask me. Trance has evolved. If you listen to older rock from the 60's, it'll also sound different from todays rock music. And where generally people would call everything older than the 20th century "classical" music, I actually distinguish between arte antica, arte nova, gregorian, baroque, romance, impressionism etc. But that doesn't mean I enjoy each one less or more just because of their labels.

My local classic FM radio plays them all, and you won't hear me ***** at them for playing baroque even tho it's a classical music radio channel.

Just listen to it if you like it, if you don't, let it go and let others enjoy it.
