May also kicked off an incredible playoff run by my much beloved Vancouver Canucks NHL hockey team. Things would go a little south towards the end of the season...both with the team and in the city, but at this time it was amazing. Huge street parties after every game we won!

Unfortunately things went a bit bad for us and we lost in the very last game of the best of 7 round to lose the Stanley cup. Hard to take as a fan, but harder still to take what some people did to our beautiful city afterwards when some disappointed fans and just people looking to cause trouble rioted and started torching parts of the city... A very disappointing thing to show the rest of the world, but at least there were still spots of beauty in an otherwise very ugly thing

June did however have its bright points as I got to play the first UPLIFTED event, a show put on entirely by volunteers from the Vancouver Trance Family! A group that has grown to over 1500 dedicated members. This was one of my favorite gigs of all time. Such an amazing atmosphere.

Also opened for the one and only Roger Shah in June! Although this is one of the only pictures I have from the event haha. Im the little dj in the background....lol

June also kicked off the summer party months here in Vancity. I was invited to some invite only/industry rooftop pool parties...man. THE best way to kill off a sunday afternoon is a pool, hot weather and a drink. Absolutely lovely.

July began with some amazing news, I would be playing at one of my favorite local clubs with two artists who had been huge influences on me when I first started playing years ago. Gabriel and Dresden were back on tour and I would be warming up the club right before they went on!
