:hmmm: This way presenting, all focus and attention is put on the remixer. Leaving producer and performer(s) unnoticed. Same way one can turn things 180 degrees. It's ' just ' ( only ) a remix ... Focussing on one has a price. Others like to emphazise a specific label. Ignoring all artists alltogether :ee: :mml:

For me everyone deserves the credit for their work. The remixer is basically the producer of the sounds you're listening to on that remix, but the original producer is still the composer of the melodies and ideas that gave the remixer something cool to work with. Then there's the vocalist of course who doesn't change. So it's important that everyone gets their due credit for the hard work they put in to give us great music to enjoy. :)
I just happened to react like that because, say there's a live conversation on Twitter on a radio show, and as a certain track is being played out, with the words ([insert producer name) Remix), next thing I see is the Twitter Trance Fan shouting out the composer name and just no acknowledgement whatsoever for the remixer. A tweet like this from the show host https://twitter.com/AhmedRomel/status/324606961591128064 and then after that tweets like this https://twitter.com/WesleyDuhen/status/324607326021644289 and this https://twitter.com/PaanJr/status/324607379448680448 with just no knowing that it's a remix whatsoever by InnerSync, formerly known as Cymatics. That's just telling me those Twitter Trance fans don't get it. :book:

I'm not sure that everyone really understands the dynamic of music production and how remixes work and differ from the original. People who are involved in the scene and big Trance fans do, but I'm not sure that more casual fans get into it in such detail.

I'd like to do a remix but I haven't the technical competence yet, at least to make something listenable :(

I'm sure you could do it, it's just having the time to work on all the technical elements. It really is a practice makes perfect thing when it comes to all the technical side of it. I think you'll have the creativity for it. :)
