09. Art of Trance: Chung Kuo (Orkidea remix)

My new remix of Art of Trance. The original is by Vangelis so it's was pretty amazing to remix to of my alltime heroes in one track. I've had a concept in mind for quite a few years to make a trance track without a breakdown and with this I finally made it. Just eight minutes of constant building up. The Vangelis chords and melody seem to suit that pefectly. Lowland also joined the production and provided some great Vangelisque atmos and sounds which elevated the production to a new level. Hope you will like it:)

Profile: Born on March 29, 1943 in Volos, Greece, Vangelis started writing music when he was 4 and performed his first live concert at age 6.
In the sixties, he was a founding member of Aphrodite's Child ('Rain and Tears', 'End of the World', etc.), along with Demis Roussos and Lucas Sideras.

"I did recently a guest mix to John 00 Fleming's Global Trance Grooves show which turned out to be a nice success. I've been enjoying John's podcast for years and it's proper underground trance sound is always inspirational. Thus this month's Radio Unity mix is leaning little bit towards that kinda sound. The mix starts off all proggy with a sublime new Sasha production. We soon move into more melodic territory and finally enter fast paced psy grooves. Featured are my heroes like Astrix and Jody Wisternoff, my brand new remix of Art of Trance and new 2011 remix of Winkee's finnish prog trance classic 'Whisper'.
