Which sets did you like best?

please stop with this argument, nobody can "get into" something they just don't like.

:hmmm:

I've heard a lot of sets, with a lot of different styles (also sets not fully my style), but I like to hear it - to know all what's available - and listen how a DJ mixes the tracks. Sometimes I like a specific part of a set, download the track played then afterwards, but the track isn't my style then... Thus it's also possible to 'get in a set', but not liking the tracks separately too much :)

It's not only the music which is important for me, also the way a DJ combines tracks and sometimes even different styles.

sorry but then it's not the home of trance, just a room in the big "house" (oops, i said it ) of it.
not really, psytrance/goa isn't a subgenre of "trance", it's more a genre of itself. (yeah they share common features, but so do other genres...)

and you're listening to house at this very moment btw...:mask:
yeah, unfortunately many people don't realize this :(

can.

you are talking about rejecting something that is unknown to you. i believe most people here came to trance because they got over exactly that - they started listening to something they didnt know and discovered they liked it. hardly anyone "grew up" with trance.

but that doesn't mean you can like everything!

I don't get the bolded bit.
and i started listening to Trance when it was still called Techno and Acid House, not bragging but trying to explain why I am so stubborn here. :grinning2:

And Goa IS NOT Psy!!!

but i'm sure you also heard plenty of sets that you just didn't like at all, no? :)

I don't know your opinion but I like this set very very much :super::super::super: :mml::mml::mml:

For me it's more that I like sets more or less...
Or parts of a set less than other parts...

I haven't heard just 100% crap sets :)

But from some DJ's I have some expectation 'it will be so and so' ... if they change style (Like e.g. Blank & Jones and Cosmic Gate did compared with the past) I can be disappointed aswell :grinning2:

But that still doesn't make a set of them automatically 100% crap for me

But to be honest... I'm sometimes more critical towards DJ's high in the rankings (higher expectations), because there are so many DJ's with a lot of talents following them lower in the list, which I hope to see climbing

can or want?
again, disagree, one guy here on these boards is the best proof.
if you hear and feel music in a live environment you can and will change your opinion. don't forget that this genre isn't conceived for listening in front of your PC and posting away.

while i agree with you on most points, i can't agree on the last one "this genre isn't conceived for listening in front of your PC and posting away"...this is radio and there are a lot of tracks and ways to build a set that would be appropriate and exciting for the "chair ravers"

new smilies woohooo :ee:

Well the uplift extremists out there will cry and not understand, everyone else will be probably enjoying it :grinning:

this doesn't seem to get constructive

i was rephrasing this:

and your point is?

you don't wear the same clothes everyday, you don't travel to the same spot every year (or do you??) , man doesn't live off bread alone and opinions like that are stagnation, not evolution.
