DJ, Producer and Label manager Ben Nicky is one of the brightest new stars on the trance scene at the moment. His next release due to be out later this summer ‘Special Moment’ is now signed to arguably the biggest record label in trance, Paul Van Dyk’s, Vandit Digital, His skill behind the decks has earned him a residency at the Syndicate Superclub in Bristol as well as appearances at events run by all the major brands on the scene. He was nominated for ‘best newcomer’ at the prestigious worldwide trance awards last year as well as having his interview published on their website. Ben also owns and runs Abstract Recordings, one of the UK’s best and most successful up and coming record labels, with support coming from all the major trance DJs. Ben released his first ever trance track, ‘Dirty Dancefloor’ at the tender age of 21 and saw it fly straight to number 1 in the worldwide trance charts. Since then has consistently reached the top fives on download sites such as audiojelly and trackitdown with Dancefloor smashes like ‘Filthy Creature’, ‘Turn On’, ‘Peanut Butter’, ‘Catapult’ and ‘Morning Breeze’. Support for these tracks has come from the biggest names on the trance circuit, including support from Judge Jules on his BBC Radio 1 show, Anjunabeats Worldwide and Ferry Corstens Countdown. ‘Special Moment’ has been supported by the worlds biggest DJ, Tiesto, with two plays on his Club Life radio show and countless plays during his live sets. Its not just production that has made Ben Nicky such an instant success, his diverse and energetic DJ skills are sure to send any crowd into a frenzy. Ben’s diversity means he can play all styles from the trance genre, from the more tech edged side right up to the more uplifting and emotional trance that he is starting to be renowned for. He has performed guest mixes on Slinky FM and Outburst (Ernesto and Bastians radio show) and more recently has had a guest mix slot on the massive Kiss FM. Although still in the early years of his DJ career Ben has travelled the globe playing all over the UK and in countries such as Germany, Ireland and the Mecca of dance music, Ibiza, for Judge Jules legendary night Judgement Sundays. He has spun for other massive brands including Godskitchen, Fire It Up, Slinky, Gatecrasher and Wonderland to name just a few. This has seen him play sets either side of DJs like Paul Van Dyk, Above and Beyond, Ferry Corsten, John O’Callaghan and Pete Tong. His proudest moment came when he played before and handed the decks over to his idol Eddie Halliwell. Ben has recently been signed to one of the UKs freshest agencies ‘Motion’. Add to that the growing success of his own label and you have all the ingredients for this young talented DJ to be a future hero of trance.

Jon O’Bir is a name that’s been splashed across the industry since he catapulted to the front of the line in 2002 after winning a prestigious competition run by Passion and M8 magazine. In the seven years since this Jon has gone from strength to strength in gaining respect, fans and accolades.

He successfully held a residency with the leading dance brand Godskitchen for many years which saw him warming up and going head to head with some of the biggest stars including Paul Van Dyk, Sasha and Tiesto, something very few people can add to their portfolio.

Massive achievements in the world of Radio weren’t far behind as his diary continued to swell. He was picked for an appearance on the renowned Radio One Essential Mix as well as a guest on Fergie’s show. In 2006 he was offered the life changing opportunity to become one of the selected DJ’s to be part of Radio One’s “The Residency” shows which further cemented the gigantic growth in his popularity. Since 2006 Jon O’Bir’s own show “Ways & Means” has continued to attract listeners from all over the world and in 2009 a podcast version of the show will become available for download.

On the production front his accomplishments have been just as formidable. His release “Ways & Means” became one of the biggest selling tracks of 2008 on Beatport, which also included a remix from Paul Van Dyk. Alongside extremely popular collaborations with Gareth Emery and Airwave, Jon’s solo releases including “Effectual” and “Accendancy” and remixes such as “Jose Amnesia - Louder” have received massive praise from his peers and fans alike.

His exceptional talents in production lead him to create an artist album called “From Within” that was released on the highly respected Vandit label and was promoted by a very successful album tour after its worldwide release in 2008.

2009 is set to see more smash hits from Jon O’Bir, the new EP “Answers / Prophase” is due for release on Vandit and he’s recently remixed tracks for Paul Van Dyk, Giuseppe Ottaviani, John O’Callaghan and Aly & Fila.

If all that wasn’t enough, due to high demand Jon has begun to release video podcasts from his worldwide gigs that are tallying colossal hit rates and attracting new fans day by day.
