i guess its changing lately and birthday are getting those more important

Now this is an interesting ritual!

In here, we are Hindus, and we have a big list of Gods and Goddesses. However, each day of the week in in the name of one particular God and people worship him on that day.

When I was younger my parents woulnd't make a big fuss about my nameday as they were saying I will celebrate it when I will get older. Since I remember my parents didn't do much for their birthdays ( unless it was a significant number as 30/35/40 and this year 45 - my mum's bday is tomorrow ) but they always throw a dinner party for their namedays. Same with their friends. I started to really celebrate my nameday after my 18th birthday but as I said my parents wedding anniversary is on the same day so it's a special date anyway. :smile1:
