Yup, I usually do 1 minute transitions if the tracks are higher bpm and 1.5 minutes if it's proggy tracks

well as long as the 2 tracks are in keys that harmonise with each other it's fine but one thing you should never do is have one vocal playing over top of another vocal. it just sounds messy.
