it's probably available somehwere but it's really expensive...during the winter in the eastern US we get grapes from Chile, Strawberries & Raspberries from Florida or California...during the summer these berries are grown locally...:grinning:

Of course it´s available...but it was a way to emphasize..:)

Those fruits, when they get here, they get REALLY expensive... like US$40 per kilo..

Well... Due to agricultural subsidies in US and EU foods are generally getting more and more expensive around the world.

I know...but travelling to Europe from here is quite expensive and takes some time to plan...I´m doing my best to be able to go in July...:grinning:

I´m serious...in opposite, other fruits are really cheap here.... oranges and apples are only US$1 per kilo, and others like mango, papaya,etc cost around US$3 per kilo...

Crap :) But no wonder Chinese are lending agricultural land in Brazil :)

Yeah...we have plenty of space here, and the land is awesome for agriculture....we could produce much much more, but the government is not so good here..:mask:

US ships grain & Corn to Russia and China and imports Orange Juice concentrate (from Brazil) but the resaon US food prices have grown has to do with supply and demand as US farmers are no getting higher prices to sell corn to Ethanol plants instead of shipping overseas... :mask:

Yeah. Generally biofuels are solving less problems they create. But it's a little more complicated. Food stocks are the lowest since 1970 around the world, demand is accelerating in various developing countries, add global warming to the equation and biofuels subsidies and... Houston! We've got a problem. :)

The world could start using Ethanol instead of gasoline in cars....it would make the petrol barrell get much lower...:mask:
