VMware ( virtual machines ) having performance issues ( some experience with @ work ) while the XEN alternative seems quite appealing to me. I intend to try things out on a free ( removable ) HDD !

yep, one of his worst experiences ever, took him weeks.

bought the issue for the review of Digital Villages audio PC btw.

running audio stuff virtually is not so good, introduces noise and latency to the signal, that will become a really viable alternative if processors become so fast (and the way they handle memory) to compensate for that. So in a couple of years I won't have a Mac but will be running MS written software thru WINE
