AfterhoursRadio Beta released on FileForum

Hi tab!,

I can add the ability to select any AH.FM server no problems. The way it currently works is it pings each server available for the quality that you desire, then uses the quickest one. If you find you are having connection problems, right click and select "Reset Server Cache", that will cause the servers to be repinged and best one recalculated.

Only thing that I can't do to this is add a manual input of a server, as that would mean that it could be used for any shoutcast stream, this player will only be available to ah.fm as it's the best! :super::super:

I''ve almost finished adding event reminders to the application now so you can double click on an event that you want to be reminded of and have a popup appear when the show starts. I'm also adding the ability so that any event can be added via an URL so ah.fm djs can put a link into their signatures to add an event for their show automatically, if they so wish of course :music:
thanks..i hope i'm not asking too much :tongue:

cant wait for the next release :)

Of course not! That's all part of development, I want this to be the only player worth using for ah.fm by tailoring it to the listeners requirements. I hate Winamp :P :lol:

Cheers, I'll be releasing a new version tonight with the new features in. I'll explain how the afterhours:// protocol works too, it's pretty simple but does the job! :super:

MASSIVE MATE!!! Cannot wait! Dan will be so proud and happy! Cheers! :drunk:

Right, I've uploaded a new version, same place as usual,

FileForum | AfterhoursRadio

This one has the new schedule in as well as the ability to select the AH.FM server manually. If you look at my signature you will also see an "Add my show" link, this will add an event to the Radio, it works like so,

First but you must always type is

afterhours://event/?

then the following parameters, for one off alerts,

title= - this will be the title of your alert
type=oneshot - you must set this to oneshot for one off alerts
start= - start date and time for the alert (in UTC)
end= - end date and time for the alert (in UTC)

for example

afterhours://event/?title=My%20Alert&type=oneshot&start=01012008-1200&end=01012008-1300

this will add an event on the 1st January 2008 at 12pm to 1pm.

for reacurring events, you use the following,

title= - this will be the title of your alert
type=recurring - you must set this to recurring for repeating alerts
start= - start time for the alert
end= - end time for the alert
when= - when the event occurs, this is a list of days that the event occurs separated by "-"

each day is 2 digits, the first digit represents the frequency,

0 = every
1 = First
2 = Second
3 = Third
4 = Fourth

the second digit represents the day of the week, 0 being sunday,

so for every 2nd saturday you would use "26"

for example,

afterhours://event/?title=DJ%20Abstraction%20-%20Beyond%20Consciousness&type=recurring&start=1500&end=1600&when=34

this link will add an event to my show, for every 3rd thursday of the month at 3pm to 4pm.

Any questions just give me a shout, I will document all of this in good time!

Hey Magik, that's great news, cheers for letting me know, I was yet to test in x64!

BTW, here is a link for your show,

Victoria's Secret with Magik

That will add an event for every monday from 10pm to 11pm. :music:

Will be interesting to see if it works as I haven't tested recurring events thoroughly yet...

Looks like I have a little bug and recurring events aren't alerting as they should be at current, I'll fix that later :)

I just thought I'd breathe new life into this with a little information. I checked my web logs today and according to bandwidth usage on this application alone , it's had over 800 downloads in the past 11 days.

It seems that it's splattered all over the net even though I only submitted it to fileforum, typical shareware sites! Anyway, feel free to pimp a link to the download page anywhere to help increase downloads :)

Also, I'm going to add a selection of shows to the schedule automatically, but I haven't decided what ones yet :) :) :) So basically any new user that installs will be reminded of specific shows.
