Each and every install is kind of some adventure though. As with installing different tastes of Linux : my knowledge and experience is with desktop PC's, not with laptops. Best try ( actually try out ) any factory ' restore ' procedure first. Especially, when you've got no other computer to use in the meanwhile :P :ee:​

well, it is been 2 years and 3 months, exactly, since I bought my laptop, with an everyday heavy use, it started to act weirdly, I am not sufferring from operating system fails, it is just the performance has been degraded noticeably, my first suspicion is the files fragmentation, damaged registry as result of un-properly un-installed software, and so on! Best to my knowledge, System restore will not help me with this, so formatting after 2 years of solid heavy use, is a wise decision, I think :smile:
Why I am thinking to install Linux, just for exploration, want to know what I am missing. I want to get into programming and scripting, along with my engineering design career. but I find it very difficult to learn it:)
